A better way to charge.

December 5, 2012

I hate cords. Each time I buy a new electronic device I think about where I’m going to store the cords. It’s especially bothersome at my desk. I need tidy. I will clean the entire room in order to sit down and get some work done, so, tangled cords mere inches from my keyboard just aren’t gonna cut it.

So… now I have use for a very pretty little box I’ve been saving for just such an occasion. It was the packaging for the drawer liners I used here. I couldn’t bare to throw it away — I  knew it would have new life… somewhere.

Success! Now, let’s drill a spot for the power cord on the power bar, and place everything inside.

I added a slit up the side of the box to nudge my cord into place, and then taped it on the inside, to keep the hole nice and tidy.

Now my little tech buddies have a handy place to charge and store their cords and accessories…

And, when there’s nothing to charge — a pretty little box is left in it’s place. An easy-peasy DIY charging station.
