We made it! It’s the finalé of the One Room Challenge, and my bathroom makeover is dunzo! Just six short weeks ago, the bathroom was looking pretty plain. We had white walls, and dinged up cabinets after our big home reno. We were ready for something a little more special, and to bring this neglected little room up to snuff. Here’s where we started:
Everything got a major refresh with black and soft pink walls, new black painted cabinetry, custom artwork, a small gallery wall and fun accessories. Let’s take a look at how she turned out shall we? Everything is so much more full and rich now. The pink walls are the perfect blush colour — not too pink, but not too plain. It’s just right, and being paired with the solid black wall is the perfect match. Click here to read all about my paint choices.
That custom coral artwork was so easy, and turned out to be the perfect contrast for my solid black wall. The large white frame breaks everything up just enough, and the black coral adds a subtle beachy feel.
The wood tones in my recently found accessories add just enough natural tones into the room, and I think it makes it feel that much more cozy and welcoming for our guests.
And we can’t forget about my DIY faux succulent project. I love having plants in every room but a windowless bathroom is no place to care for a living plant. This faux beauty was the perfect answer!
I love a room with a little bit of drama, and the new colour scheme adds just enough to get the job done right. My new mini gallery wall adds a bit of interest and function with the addition of two small mirrors.
I was able to keep my circular mirror and light fixture from before. They still look great! And, updating my cabinets to black paint, in a fantastically-performing paint product made it all worth while.

I adore my CIL Smart paint, and you should give it a shot if you’ve been thinking about painting yours.
Everything turned out just how I had hoped. The room has more depth, feels warmer, and its definitely more inviting to our guests.
That’s all she wrote folks. Another One Room Challenge in the bag. If you missed my previous ORC, you should check it out. I designed a brand new room for my daughter complete with twin beds and fresh artwork and I think it turned out really great. You can see it all here!
