I love holiday gifting! And, for almost the last decade, a common person popping up on my Christmas list is, the ‘New Mom’. So, I thought I’d dedicate the last week of our, Month of DIY Holiday Gifts, to her — with a little round-up of my, DIY Gifts for the New Mom, in your life. Thoughtful, lovely, gifts for her… and you’ll look like a crafting, rock-star. (This post may contain affiliate links. First up, something that was the first thing I made for myself when we brought home our daughter. And, it is the best, and easiest organizational tool there is. Not to mention, really easy and inexpensive to make for the New Mom.
Keep her sane under that mountain of new ruffled, and polka-dotted miniature clothes, she will be given, in a plethora of different sizes. These dividers make things easy for the, learning-it-as-she-goes, new Mom. What fits the little munchkin, right now? What is for next season?
A few simple steps, and some beautiful paper later, she’ll be organizing to her hearts content. At a glance she’ll know what fits her baby, today. And, will be free from that disappointing feeling of realizing her little bundle-of-joy, outgrew that special outfit from Grandma & Grandpa, without the tags ever coming off.
Better yet? It makes hand-me-downs, a cinch. New Moms, often have New Mom, friends. In two shakes of a lambs tail, she can gather up those gently used onesies, and pass them along to the next Mom-to-be, or make quick storage of them.

Ok. What does the New Mom on the go have? Stuff!! Just… stuff. Usually weighed down with a diaper bag, and ziplock baggies full of Cheerios, in her pockets. Oh… and the Kleenex — my God, the Kleenex!
When New Mom has a day (or let’s face it, an hour) to herself, and she sets off to have some self-time or run a few productive errands… let’s keep her organized! It makes the day run smoother, and smoother means happier.
I had a slouchy purse that was swallowing everything I put in it. I think I bought 5 new lip balms in a 6 month span, not because I love lip balm (but I do, this one is my favourite!!!), but, because I had no idea they were all in there! Enough with the mish-mash, and the missing cell phone, and the “did I forget my wallet?!” panic. No… you did not forget your wallet.. you just need a purse organizer.
Be your New Mom’s, superstar. Make her this! See the full tutorial, here.
Let New Mom, feel the love from her “village” as she reads to her little one. This easy, felt bird mobile will be done with a simple visit to the dollar store, and a trip through your backyard (or your neighbours back yard).
Yep. It’s exactly what it looks like. Bird shapes, on felt. Sew the edges with decorative yarn, and get those babies dangling from some twigs! Did I mention it was easy?
We hung ours over the rocking chair, in the nursery. It’s the spot we read to our Kiddo when she was little. And, she would fall asleep, in my arms, with those adorably heavy eyelids looking up at it. (I know I don’t have to tell you that twigs and string hung over the crib where little hands can grab and pull at it while unsupervised, is not the best idea, right? So let’s just keep this in a kid-friendly, location).

Now let’s see what the rest of the gang has come up with to keep the DIY, gift-giving season, alive! Happy crafting, making and creating!!
