Here it is! We made it through another New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge and I’m so happy! I’m so excited to see what all of my talented blogging friends ended up with after this month-long challenge hosted by the super duper Casa Watkins Living. Be sure to click over to all these great room designs with the links at the bottom of this post! Now let’s take a look at where I ended up with my Modern Rustic Master Bedroom Reveal…
To understand all the texture and warmth that have been added into this room we gotta take a peek back a few short weeks ago when things were looking like this…
I needed a little something. Okay, a lot of something. We started with that incredible new DIY headboard. We used Stikwood peel-and-stick, real wood boards. And they were everything I had ever dreamed of. Easy to use, and I was able to execute EXACTLY what I had swimming around in my head for months. And the texture! It is perfect!
I shopped my house for some pretty decor and rearranged some art I had on hand since our big renovation. Did you catch my DIY “e” string art project, making an appearance?
I found a great wood slice piece from HomeSense, and created a new watercolour piece over on “my side” of the bed. A pretty new candle and trinket box, finished things off. A girls gotta have a bit of girly stuff. And, that little pink candle and copper top had my heart with the most realistic peony scent I’ve ever experienced. So pretty!
I’m so happy the bed area has stepped up its game and now feels like it matches the fireplace makeover from last year. All the texture and deep, rich tones have me so happy. I have found myself escaping to my room a lot more often this week. It’s the best place for a little reading or netflix-ing.
Did I mention the texture? Oh man. It’s so good.
I was excited to order a few new pieces for the room including this GORGEOUS Arlo Bench from the Brick. It’s beautiful and rich and has a tufted top which I adore. The angled legs have that perfect mid-century modern vibe happening, and it’s just perfect at the foot of the bed.
Don’t you want to just jump in?
A few sparkly details always make it better. This little arrowhead glass box is perfect for pretty little trinkets.
There’s that bench again. Isn’t it so pretty? I’ve got a couple of new and improved, “Soft Modern” side tables headed my way but unfortunately they couldn’t ship in time for this blog post, but you better believe I’ll update a picture or two as soon as they arrive. Check out my mood board post to see which ones I have on the way!
Tasseled curtains are just the way to go. And, I see them less and less so if you spy a panel or two, snatch them up! You won’t regret it — they are so simple and elegant but those little tassels just add a modern, fun, punch!
My wood-slice, fireplace insert is loving having his new buddy the wood plank headboard in the room. Or, at least I am. They are the perfect pairing and have me feeling like I’ve been swept away to a modern mountain retreat. I’m loving it!
I’m going to love curling up here every night. I’m so happy our modern rustic master bedroom is complete. There really is something to be said for dedicating some time and effort into getting your sleep space up to snuff. Now, it’s the most stylish and comfortable room in the house and I’m not complaining!
Now it’s time to check out what these lovely ladies have been up to all month long! Click on through and give them a visit, will ya?

A big shout out to the New Year, New Room Refresh Sponsors!
It’s beautiful and sure looks like a retreat!! I love all the warm wood tones you incorporated with the blues. The headboard, fireplace insert and mantel, and bench. IT feels fresh and cozy!
I’ve gotta say, I love the fireplace, especially how the seat is raised up off the floor. The logs are a great way to stage it when you’re not using it. :-)
Thanks so much!
Such a beautiful makeover! I love all of the details, and especially love that y’all made that awesome headboard! Enjoy your gorgeous new room!
Thank you Iris!
