What better way to start the new year out on the blog, than to get going with a new room design! Well, it’s a room refresh really. I’m going for a moody modern look in my master bedroom, and I’m going to tackle it over just 4 weeks! The New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge is hosted by Casa Watkins Living and has 13 great bloggers up for the task! Let’s take a peek at where I’m hoping I’ll end up with my moody modern master bedroom plan!
You may remember my master bedroom from our big renovation, here, and my black fireplace makeover, here. (This post may contain affiliate links. This means, should you end up making a purchase, advertisers give me a small percentage of that sale, at absolutely NO EXTRA COST to you. Click here for full disclosures).
Now it’s time to whip the rest of the bedroom into shape! We’ve kinda been living a bit of a dorm life around the bed area. Simple frame, mattress, two mis-matched end tables, a couple of lamps and scene! I’m inspired to layer in all that texture we managed to get out of our fireplace makeover and really make this a special place to rest our noggins at the end of the day.

This moody modern room will be a mix of what I already have, a clever DIY project or two, and hopefully some new pieces to spruce things up a little. All the deep black and white tones mixed with solid colour bed linens are the best because they can satisfy both that feminine soft side, and that masculine serene side — keeping both the mister and the missy happy as can be.
Toss in some bling with gold accents, and some texture with a fun DIY project (you’ll have to wait and see!), and this place will finally be done and we can finally scratch another item of our ever-shrinking to-do list.
Be sure to follow along EVERY TUESDAY in JANUARY to keep tabs on my progress and check out my fellow “refreshing” bloggy pals to see what they get up to!
