Now that summer is in full gear, take a Saturday and go for a drive. Garage sales are in full swing, and if you’re patient, you’re likely to be coming home with some pretty decent loot, at the most minimal cost possible.
I did just that recently, and here are the goodies that made their way home with me…
Yep, felt pretty proud of myself! I’ve given a little breakdown below of my individual costs. I made purchases from 2 different sales, and finished with a grand total of $7.50. How do you think I did?
Batter Bowl. I found something similar here for around $35. That really makes the $2.50 I paid, not too shabby.
Wooden Box $0.50.
Candle Holders. $2.00 for the set.
Mugs and saucers. $1.00 for a set of 4.
Pitcher. $0.50
Pot. $1.00
Ahhh… Don’t you just love summer?
Ooh, I love the summery-yellow items you scored! That pot is great! And those candlesticks remind me of those yellow giraffes in the nursery.
Funny thing is that I know I have treasures buried away that I would totally scoop up at a garage sale, but since I’ve looked at the for so long I can’t see them in a new light, if you know what I mean :)
Guess I should put on my DIY glasses and look at my own stash of hideaways before I start hunting summer g-sales!
Yeah! Get ’em outta storage! Maybe you can use them for something other than how they’re intended to re-fresh your view on them? Or try doing a swap meet with your friends… maybe you all have a few items you know are good quality, but you’ve fallen out of love with? Tradesies!
OMG! nice garage sale haul!
